CPUPak-4i provides inertial navigation data necessary for an anti-collision reference system. Vehicle proximity and precise lane position are computed. Using tightly-coupled SPAN inertial technology FSL have developed a powerful tool for multi-vehicle anti-collision R&D. 100Hz navigation data is sent by CAN bus, through Ethernet radios, to other vehicles for 3D proximity calculations. Data transmitted on the CAN bus could be used to stand-in for redundant or emulated devices.
Each vehicle is fitted with FSL’s CPUPak-4i tightly coupled inertial navigation system and a spread spectrum radio. The CPUPak-4i incorporates NovAtel’s SPAN technology for a robust positioning solution in marginal urban environments. The CPUPak-4i also holds a digital 3D map and image of own and approaching vehicles thereby enabling measurement of inter-vehicle and roadside obstruction distances in 3D. The CPUPak-4i gives accuracies in the order of a few centimetres and three hundredths of a degree in alignment. |
